Modeshift Stars Bronze Re-Accreditation

Modeshift Stars Bronze Re-Accreditation

Once again, we have achieved our Modeshift STARS Bronze Award and are working hard towards our Silver Award. For those that do not know, Modeshift Stars is a national schools award scheme that has been established to recognise schools that have demonstrated excellence in supporting cycling, walking and other forms of sustainable travel. The scheme encourages schools across the country to join in a major effort to increase levels of sustainable and active travel in order to improve the health and well-being of children and young people. Last year, to promote a healthy lifestyle, we took part in a variety of events including Dr Bike, the Bike and Scoot Breakfast Event, Ditching the Stabilisers Bike Lessons for Y3 and Y4, Scooter Skills Sessions, Bikeability training for Y6 and the Big Pedal Event.

This year, as we strive for Silver, we have already taken part in the 10 Day Active Challenge, the Happy Shoesday Event and Bling your Bikes & Scooters Day for Y4 and Y5. As we move into Autumn 2, we will be offering lessons to the Y5 children to help them develop their bike skills further and have also planned a Puncture Repair Day for Y5 and our annual Road Safety Week.
