Walk to School Event

As part of World Book Day and in support of STARS active travel to school, we hosted a special walk to school event, on Thursday 5th March. The special event was hosted by a children’s entertainer from Histrionics and the purpose was to encourage families to walk to school and park away from the school gates. Parking away from the school gates can:

  • Improve road safety for pupils and parents
  • Reduce harmful air pollution outside school
  • Encourage exercise
  • Improve health and wellbeing

Pupils that attended the event received a sticker and free snacks as part of an active travel breakfast. As can be seen from the photographs below, children, parents and staff really enjoyed taking part.
