Spelling

Please find the links for each year group’s spelling words; these words are a combination of the National Curriculum, topic words and vocabulary to help the children communicate ideas.
In school, as a strategy to spell , we encourage children to split the words into syllables and then identify the sounds within each one.

Year 5 and 6 Arithmetic Questions

Wednesday 1st March – Here is a maths resource to support the learning of years 5 and 6 children at home.  You can access the document by clicking here.

Due to some technical difficulties, the video links do not currently work although it is hoped that the walk-throughs at the top of each practice sheet will be able to support children when practising.

An answer sheet will be uploaded in the next couple of days.

Thanks,

Mr Berkshire

Remote Learning

At Sitwell, we recognise that children’s learning during this academic year may continue to face disruptions due to the country’s ongoing response to the Covid-19 pandemic. As a result, we have tried to prepare for every eventuality in the effort of minimising any disruptions as much as possible. In the event of your child having to self-isolate, or a national lockdown, it is important that their education continues providing they are well enough.

Any remote learning at Sitwell will continue to be delivered daily through Google Classroom where we will teach the same curriculum remotely as we do in school, wherever possible and appropriate. However, so that remote learning can start immediately, below are two days of remote learning for each year group. It might be that our office staff direct your child to this learning for 1-2 days while their class teacher works on adapting and preparing any classroom learning for Google Classroom.

As these initial activities are not set on Google Classroom, we invite your child to bring in any of this learning on their return to school, so that we can celebrate your child’s achievements as well as provide any feedback on their learning. We hope that these resources allow for a smooth transition between school and remote learning, and thank you for your support during these challenging times.
